I just installed Drive Image 7 on my PC. I am trying to test that the
backup to DVD is good but am having problems. Below are the details. Any
suggestions.

Environment
-------------
PC: Dell Dimension 4550 Series, Pentium 4, 2.53 GHz
Memory 256mb
DVD Sony DRU-510A
OS: Windows XP Professional, Service Patch 1, and current on patches.
Software: Veritas DLA

Problem
----------
I am able to back up directly to DVD from Drive Image 7. To do this, I must
uninstall Veritas since they are not compatible. The backup was very slow
however, so I decided to first backup to a hard disk and then manually copy
to the DVD. This procedure was much, much faster, even though it was a two
step process. I re-installed Veritas DLA which makes it easier to manually
copy the Drive Image files to the DVD. I run the backup so that it breaks
up into file sizes that will fit on a DVD. For the most part, the backup
procedure works fine.

In order to ensure that I have a good backup, I reboot the PC from the Drive
Image 7 CD. It all boots fine and I take the option to run the backup Image
browser. The backup image browser recognizes the DVD and the V2i drive. If
I click on the '+' icon to expand the tree however, I receive the following
error.

Error EC8B022- Browsing this V2i drive is not supported.

I then rebooted from the C: drive. Running the Backup Image Browser, I
receive the same error when trying to browse the DVD. I am however to
browse the file on the hard disk successfully.

Is this working correctly? Does Drive Image 7 not allow browsing of backup
DVD's? If so, then it seems like a huge lacking of needed functionality.

FYI, Veritas DLA is software that runs as a process and allows CD and DVD
burners to be treated as a normal hard drive. With this software you can
use windows explorer to drag/drop, copy/delete files to/from the CD/DVD.

Thanks,

This link requires that DI 7.0 be registered, and I have been unable
to find how to do this - Drive Image does not appear on the software
selection list at the registration page! Can someone help me ?

What about a call to Tech Support. They will register the product for you on
the fly.
